Welcome to the Prerow Beach Club: located in the middle of Wedding, the Humboldthain Club transforms into a late-summer idyll on the Baltic Sea coast. The sound of passing suburban trains crashes on your ears in waves, wind blows through the dune landscape. With their feet in the warm sand and a cool drink in their hands, the audience is invited to a reenactment: In his documentary “barfuß und ohne hut” (“barefoot and without a hat”) Jürgen Böttcher portrayed in 1964 “Young People” (the working title at the time) with their visions of the future in the free space between the end of school and the beginning of an apprenticeship. Together with six performers, the audience compares scenes from the film with their own work-related hopes and desires. With music, in exhilaration, in movement, but also in relaxation, they formulate their vision of life after school: What does the start into the working world look like? What expectations, fears and resistance are associated with it? And what strategies for more autonomy in choosing a career can be developed together?
Sebastian Mauksch & team stage participatory theater for children and young people and research the art of adolescence for the Berliner Festspiele. With Ballhaus Ost they recently produced the film »Ich lieb dich nicht, du liest mich nicht – aha« and »Fennymore oder wie man Dackel im Salzmantel macht« (invited to AUGENBLICK MAL! – Das Festival des Theater für junges Publikum as well as to WILDWECHSEL – Das Kinder- u. Jugendtheaterfestival im Osten Deutschlands).
Plays even in bad weather.
Note: All filming that occurs during the performance is for the exclusive viewing of the respective audience and will be deleted afterwards.
