The perfomers of Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop and Georg Nussbaumer dreamed and met in dreams. Now they play along the collected dream protocols with an archaic notation script through a darkness perforated by flashlights. Reconnecting the dreams with old records and new reports – caught at the tipping point between waking and sleeping, between forgetting and remembering. Dream personnel diffuse into other dreams, animals appear, the clear becomes diffuse, the sudden destroys the static. The logic of the waking state is suspended in the emergence and decay of sounds, processes and artifacts – and who knows what else we dream! When do color and sound enter dreams? When we awaken? When we forget to forget? The audience moves through all floors and rooms of the Ballhaus Ost in a web of unintentional, fragmentary narratives that keeps changing and branching out. Dreamwalking in oniric realms.

The Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop sees itself as co-author of the collaborative productions. The members of the ensemble have developed from pure instrumentalists of string music in the classical sense to musical performers. In years of collaboration with the composer and Gesamtkunstwerker Georg Nussbaumer, new forms of experimental music theater are explored. A place that has the power to imagine other futures.
N O T E: The performance is not accessible for mobility- and/or sight-impaired audiences: a staircase leads up to the four floors of the house and the lighting is dim in some areas.
The audience can use provided flashlights to illuminate paths and rooms on their own. In addition, individual accompaniment through the evening is possible, please register for this at the box office or in advance by email.
